Official commissioning of the gas pipeline took place in the city of Sochi and was attended by the then RF Prime- Minister Vladimir Putin. The project is unique to the effect that nearly 90% of its route runs on the bed of the Black Sea along the coastline. The total length of the gas pipeline is 177 km with 160 km of which being an offshore section. The gas pipeline has five shore-crossings. All of them have been made by the horizontal-directional drilling thus minimizing a negative impact on the Black Sea ecosystem

The length of the gas pipelines constructed by the SGM Group of Companies under the Program Provision of Gas Supply to the regions in 2009 - 2011 amounted to – 5,635 km
