South Stream gas pipeline

Employer: Peter Gaz LLC
Total gas pipeline length of the Black Sea section: over 900 km
Pipe diameter: 1420 mm
Design capacity: 63 billion m³ per year

South Stream transnational trunk gas pipeline is constructed to diversify natural gas export supply routes to the countries of Southern and Central Europe. It is assumed that offshore section of the route will pass through the bottom of the Black Sea from Russkaya compressor station, that is in the Anapa City area, to Bulgarian coast.

Offshore section of the South Stream gas pipeline starts from Russkaya main compressor station on the Russian territory that is planned to be the most high-powered one in the world. Works for its construction are assigned to LLC «SGM». Aggregate capacity of Russkaya compressor station (1st and 2nd shops) will be 448 MW. The station will be equipped with 14 GPUs Ladoga of 32 MW each, that will allow to provide the output pressure of the gas up to 28.45 MPa. As a result it’ll be possible to transfer the blue fuel for 900 km long without any additional technical units.
The expansion of Gas Transmission System is fulfilled to supply the adequate volume of gas into South Stream pipeline: that is the construction of 2 506.2 km long line pipe and 10 compressor stations with aggregated capacity of 1516 MW.
«STROYGAZMONTAZH» Company is responsible for 421 km gas pipeline construction and erection of Korenovskaya and Kubanskaya compressor stations.
LLC «SGM» sections of the route run through Voronezh Region, Rostov Region and Krasnodar Territory. And along with this 46 km long pipeline will be laid down by the constructors through rice paddy fields.
