Miller refused to Buryatia in the pipeline

The head of Gazprom refused to senators lobbying carrying out the Power of Siberia gas pipeline along the southern route including through Buryatia. The member of the Federation Council Arnold Tulokhonov in reply appealed to Alexey Miller: "You shopkeeper or state person?"

The head of Gazprom Alexey Miller considers unprofitable construction of the gas pipeline through Buryatia and the neighboring regions. Senator from the republic Arnold Tulokhonov told about it at the press conference.

- I dinned to Miller into the ears, we, six senators, wrote the letter. Why the gas pipeline "Power of Siberia" to drag after that pipe on northern (areas). All right, oil, it is clear, you from a pipe will pull out oil – it is possible to kindle an oven there. But gas has to go on the South And how treated a sidelets to Khodorkovsky, it had a project which we lobbied, - to carry out the oil pipeline on the South, - Tulokhonov noted. – And there was still very long time ago a project on the oil pipeline when events with China were bad. In it the fuel-supply line for gas station of the Soviet tanks went along borders.

According to senator from Buryatia, Alexey Miller explained refusal with unprofitability of the project.

- Miller speaks: "Requirements are lower than ten million for me it at a loss". I wrote it the letter: "You what, shopkeeper or state person? What does the state have to do, trade or provide?" At us to all Siberia only ten percent are provided, and that the western territories. And without gas it is impossible to live, - Arnold Tulokhonov spoke.

According to senator in case the gas pipeline manages to be carried out across the territory of Buryatia to Mongolia, it will help to give up as a bad job construction of hydroelectric power station on Selenga in the Mongolian territory threatening for the Russian republic with negative ecological consequences. "Mongols blackmail us that they do not have electric power. We would give gas to them and then told: "My dear, stop building hydroelectric power station", - Arnold Tulokhonov explained.

As reported "Baikal-Daily", Buryatia hopes for building of branch of the largest gas pipeline of the last years "Power of Siberia" across the territory. This main gas pipeline will be constructed for supply of gas from Yakutia to Primorsky Krai and the countries of the Pacific Rim. For Buryatia laying of the pipeline through the territory would become the solution of a question of gasification of the region. The project of the Steppe Way gas pipeline which would become "appendage" of "Power of Siberia",was discussedalso during Vladimir Putin's visit to Mongolia. And at the end of last year about the announcement of the competition  knew on development of the feasibility study on construction of a branch from "Power of Siberia" along a route of Skovorodino - Chita - Ulan-Ude.

However, most likely, hopes of Buryatia are not fated to come true, time as Arnold Tulokhonov told, the head of Gazprom considers unprofitable gasification of the republic through this project.

Let's remind, the idea of gasification of Buryatia arose a few years ago. It was planned to lead her to three stages. The first – supply of the liquefied hydrocarbonic gas, the second – the liquefied natural gas. The third - construction of the gas pipeline, it was approximately planned for 2015 - 2020.

Buryatia can hardly call the first of "gasification stages" supersuccessful. It was told about an inefficiency of the transfer of boiler rooms to the liquefied gas. Experiment in North Baikalsk the area showed that imported gas in cylinders costs twice dearer, than usual coal. Even the head of the republic urged inhabitants "not to despair" if gasification is considered unprofitable.

- Today modern coal boiler rooms work at all not worse. If to transfer them to gas, it is necessary to take down boiler rooms and new to build. And it is 650 boiler rooms, - Vyacheslav Nagovitsyn noted. – If after all calculations we see that the cheapest heat turns out from coal, we will modernize coal boiler rooms. And only we will benefit from it, after all we have no own gas. And coal is and we pay for it to the workers.

Also earlier the president's envoy in Siberian federal district Victor Tolokonsky declared that does not see gasification of Buryatia in the next years. In his opinion, the main gas will come to the republic of years through ten and will not capture all territory.
