Bovanenkovo – Ukhta

SGM Group is to construct nearly 200 km of pipelines of Bovanenkovo –
Ukhta trunk gas pipeline system (2nd string) and two compressor
stations, namely Baidaratskaya CS and Intinskaya CS.
In 2012 OJSC-Lengazspetsstroy, the member of SGM Group, completed the construction
of a 170-km pipeline of Bovanenkovo – Ukhta trunk gas pipeline system
(1st string). The project will provide the transmission of Yamal natural gas
to Central Russia and to Europe via the Unified Gas Supply System

The construction is performed in severe climate conditions of the Far North within eternally frozen grounds where no infrastructure exists.

The construction is performed only in winter period to minimize the influence on Yamal ecological system that allows keeping unique northern wildlife safe from harm.

Gas pipeline diameter reaches 1,620 mm on certain sections, as a result of the ring thermal insulation installed on certain sections of the pipeline in extremely cold conditions.

Baidaratskaya CS, which is constructing on Bovanenkovo – Ukhta pipeline system,is the northern most compressor station in the world.
