Strategy of Power of Siberia,

Gazprom is implementing the strategic task aimed at building up the upstream sector. Promising fields are to be developed simultaneously with the comprehensive and synchronized upgrade of gas production, transmission, processing and storage capacities. In particular, the Northern Tyumen Regions (SRTO) – Torzhok gas trunk line is being built today in order to withdraw additional gas volumes from the Nadym-Pur-Taz region.
The SRTO – Torzhok gas pipeline will be a crucial element of the multi-line Urengoy – Nadym – Peregrebnoye – Ukhta – Torzhok gas transmission system which is currently operational. The project is primarily targeted at supplying more gas to consumers in Northwestern Russia and securing gas exports via the Yamal – Europe gas pipeline.

Facts and Figures

The gas pipeline route runs from the Urengoy field in Western Siberia to the town of Torzhok – a node of the Russian Unified Gas Supply System (UGSS).
13 compressor stations (CS) totally generating 968 MW are located along the 2,200-kilometer gas pipeline. Its annual design capacity varies between 20.5 and 28.5 billion cubic meters at various sections.
The pipeline construction started in 1995. Its linear part was brought on stream in 2006.

Current Status

10 CS were constructed with 743 MW of aggregate capacity as at December 31, 2009. Another 3 CS will be brought on stream in parallel with the Bovanenkovo – Ukhta gas pipeline commissioning in 2012.

Gas Transmission system of Power of Siberia,

The Power of Siberia will become a unified gas transmission system (GTS) for the Irkutsk and Yakutia gas production centers and convey gas from these centers to Vladivostok via Khabarovsk.
The Yakutia – Khabarovsk – Vladivostok gas trunk line will be constructed at the first stage, and at the second stage the Irkutsk center will be connected to the Yakutia center by the gas pipeline.
The GTS route will run in parallel with the Eastern Siberia – Pacific Ocean operational oil pipeline, thus enabling to streamline the infrastructure and power supply costs. The GTS route will pass, interalia, through swampy, mountainous and seismically hazardous areas.
The bulk of pipes used in the construction will be domestically manufactured. Some 11,700 experts will be engaged within Phase 1 of the Power of Siberia project and some 3,000 employees will ensure the pipeline's operation.

The GTS received its name following the contest results.

The pipeline will be fed from the Chayanda oil and gas field in Yakutia.[11] The gas field is expected to be launched in 2019.[5] Later the Kovykta field, which would come operational by 2021, will be connected to the pipeline.[5][12] Independent producers may supply up to 25 billion cubic metres per annum (880×109 cu ft/a) of natural gas.[13]

Route of Power of Siberia

The 3,200-kilometre (2,000 mi) pipeline will start from the Chayanda oil and gas field in Yakutia. It will partly run within an integrated corridor with the second stage of Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean oil pipeline.[8] In Khabarovsk, it will be connected with the Sakhalin–Khabarovsk–Vladivostok pipeline. Together, these pipelines will feed a planned LNG plant, which will produce liquefied natural gas for the export to Japan, and a planned petrochemical complex in Primorsky Krai.[8][9][10] Branches toward Northern China are envisaged.

In addition, the project includes 800-kilometre (500 mi) pipeline from Irkutsk to Yakutia.

Technical Description of Power of Siberia

The pipeline is expected to cost 770 billion roubles and the investment in the gas production is 430 billion roubles.[1] It is expected to be operational by 2019.[5] Capacity of the 56-inch (1,400 mm) pipeline would be up to 61 billion cubic metres per annum (2.2×1012 cu ft/a) of natural gas.[6] 38 billion cubic metres per annum (1.3×1012 cu ft/a) would be supplied to China.[5][7]

History of power of Siberia

On 29 October 2012 president Vladimir Putin instructed the general manager of Gazprom to start the construction of the pipeline.[1] On 21 May 2014, Russia and China signed a 30-years gas deal which was need to make the project feasible. Construction was launched on 1 September 2014 in Yakutsk by president Putin and Chinese deputy premier minister Zhang Gaoli.[2][3] Construction of the pipeline from Vladivostok to China is expected to start in 2015.[4]

Ensuring safe working conditions and health of the employees is a priority of the corporate policy of LLC “SGM”.The company developed and implemented Health and Safety Management System. In 2010 it was certifued by TÜV Rheinland (Germany) for conformity with the requirements of international standard OHSAS 18001:2007.

Quality and Technologies

To ensure high quality of project delivery LLC “SGM” has a Quality Mangement System (QMS) that corresponds to the requirements of international and national standards ISO 9001:2008, GOST P ISO 9001-2008 and STO Gazprom 9001-2006 and it has been confirmed by audits for re-certification and inspection

According to the requirements of JSC “Gazprom”, the leading Russian customer in the oil and gas construction, the Company’s QMS was certified by the system of voluntary certification “GAZPROMSERT” for its conformity with STO Gazprom 9001-2006 stangar

Construction control over the quality of works in LLC “SGM” is performed by the quality control service (QCS). It includes the following stages: preinstallation inspection, inprocess inspection, acceptance as well as supervision over the work of subcontractors’ quality control services.QCS specialists developed and implemented “Provision on assessment subcontractors’ quality of works”,according to it the quality of subcontractor’s work is assessed on a monthly basis on site

Up-to-date control equipment and mesurment devices allow to fulfill all the customer’s requirements and ensure high objectivity of the control. “STROYGAZMONTAZH” actively uses automated ultrasonic testing to check quality of welding joints in the field as well as radiation flaw detection and other equipment

All types of constrauction and installation works undergo quality control: early works, ground works,loading and of floading works, transportation, welding and installation works, laying and insulation works, electrochemical protection, general construction works

“STROYGAZMONTAZH” is constantly increasing the performance standards for construction and installation works,it uses high performance equipment and new technologies. Horizontal-directional drilling method and microtunneling are used when constructing crossings under the above-ground and water barriers, which have minimum impact on the environment and operating elements of the infrastructure

High quality of project delivery is achieved through cooperation of LLC “SGM” specialists with a client, the use of advanced equipment as well as constant improvement of the quality management system


Equipment

LLC “SGM” gradually implements its strategy of renovation and increases its spread of construction machinery. In 2010 over 200 units of new machines and devices for total amount of 1 bln. rubles were put to work at the facilities. The Company’s machine spread increased by 7% and at the moment it has over 3500 units of different equipment. Work sites received bulldozers, pipelayers, excavators, welding and technological units, cranes, dump trucks, pipe string truck-trains produced by major international and Russian manufactures such as CHETRA (Russia), URALAZ (Russia), Komatsu (Japan), Caterpillar (USA).

New types of equipment such as automated welding units CRC-EVANS (USA), unit for horizontal auger drilling Barbco (USA), pipe benders Superior 48-60 (Italy) and aspread for clearing forest areas which includes harvesting equipment John Deere (USA) and mulching machine RAYCO (USA) for clearing from afforestation the right-of-way of a gas pipeline under construction. The new equipment is used at the construction projects of Bovanenkovo – Ukhta and Pochinki – Gryazovets trunk gas pipeline

The scale of the Company’s projects and their vast geography require a complex approach to the matters related to mechanization. For lowering the operating expenses for equipment maintenance in SGGroup of Companies there is a centralized procedure of procurement of spare parts, fuels and lubricants (GSM) from the manufacturing plants and their representative of fices. On the basis of affiliated subsidiary companies (ASC) there were arranged consignment warehouses of spare parts and GSM, which significantly reduced the time of standby of equipment due to maintenance, as well as production and technical centers for conducting complete overhaul and maintenance of construction equipment and vehicles

In 2010 there was completed the first stage of implementing a system of monitoring the construction equipment operationbased on GLONASS: technical requirements were identified, the services supplier was found, pilot equipment testing was performed. Optimization of equipment and device operation at the construction sites and lowering the costs of operation will be the result of implementing this system

To increase the efficiency of works related to machine use and to maintain high skills among our personel we regularly arrange training and certificationfor operators of construction machines in the centers for training and certification of the equipment manufactures, as well as in our own centers that have all the necessary training equipment where we invite specialists of the manufacturing plant


Production

The main production asset of SGM Group of Companies is JSC “Volgogradneftemash

JSC “Volgogradneftemash” is the largest Russian manufacturer of equipment for oil and gas and petrochemical industries.

The enterprise specializes in manufacturing high pressure vessels (columns, reactors, separators), heat exchangers, crude pumps and pipe fittings

In 2010 “Volgogradneftemash” manufactures over 8 thousand tons of oil equipment including 164 units of packaged equipment and 16 units of large-size equipment.Total in 2010 the plant produced and of floaded to theconsumer products for the amount over 4 bln. rubles.In June 2011 “Volgogradneftemash” produced its millionth ton of oil equipment

Joint Stock Company “Volgograd neftemash” joins together Volgograd Plant of Oil Machinery (Volgograd) and Kotelnikovsky Fitting Plant (Kotelnikovo, Volgograd region)

For 70 years of production and operation the enterprise accumulated vast experience of manufacturing oil and gas equipment, which proved to be safe in operation. The company is especially proud of its thick-walled reactors and over-sized towers, that arin high demand on the market of oil refinery equipment. Power Industry of Gazprom



Core business

Gazprom holds leading positions in the Russian power market. The Company’s share in the domestic electricity and heat generation is 15 and 22 per cent accordingly.
Power generation cannot be called a non-core activity for Gazprom. The Company’s strategic goal is to become a global energy company covering the whole value chain – from upstream to downstream – both for gas and liquid hydrocarbons, as well as producing a wide range of deliverables including electricity.

Overhaul

Overhaul and reconstruction of linear parts of trunk gas pipelines and gas distribution stations (GDS) is one of businesses of SGM Group of Companies. “STROYGAZMONTAZH” has all the necessary resources and materials to perform high quality works

Every year SGM becomes a member of Programs of overhaul and reconstruction of LLC “Gazprom transgaz St. Petersburg” and “Gazprom transgaz Moscow” in the Central and North-Western Federal Districts

In 2010, “STROYGAZMONTAZH” successfully completed the program of overhaul for the needs of LLC “Gazprom transgaz St. Peters burg”.25.4 km of gas pipelines were reinsulated and 114.3km of defective pipes were replaced

In 2011 “STROYGAZMONTAZH” is repairing for this customer 10 sections of gas pipelines and 6 sections of gas pipeline-branches in Leningrad, Smolensk,Novgorod and Tver regions with total length of 177.2km. During the works the main and the reserve strings (10 km total) of Belousovo – Leningrad gas pipeline are being re-insulated and 167.2 km of defective pipes are being replaced

In accordance with the overhaul program for trunk gas pipelines of LLC “Gazprom transgaz Moscow” “STROYGAZMONTAZH” re-insulated 270.5 km of gas pipelines and replaced over 20 km of pipes.Overall overhaul of equipment at 9 gas distribution stations (GDS) took place, as well as clearing of the trunk pipeline protected zones with total length of 225.4 km and area of 313.7 ha

Under the overhaul program for 2011 “STROYGAZMONTAZH” shall repair 260.5 km at 13 sections of trunk gas pipelines in Moscow, Tambov,Kaluga, Kursk, Ryazan and Orel regions. Overhaul provides for reinsulation of over 216.5 km of gas pipelines and replacement of 44 km of defective pipes. “STROYGAZMONTAZH” also will repair equipment of 10 GDS and will clear the trunk pipeline protected zones with total length of 602 km and area of 838 ha

By performing these works “STROYGAZMONTAZH” contributes to the incident-free operation of trunk gas pipelines and in the end to reliable gas supply to consumers of all levels

Installation Of Gas Supply Service

SGM Group of Companies is involved in the national “Program of installation of gas supply in the Russian regions” by JSC “Gazprom” from the very moment of its foundation.

SGM Group of Companies – JSC “Krasnodargazstroy”, JSC “Volgogaz” and JSC “Spetsgazremstroy” have many years’ experience in construction of gas distribution networks in different regions of Russia in challenging climatic and geological conditions and earthquake-prone areas

The geography of construction activities of SGM Group of Companies within the program of installation of gas supply spans all the territory of the RF. That is over 50 constituent entities of the RF in the Central, North-Western, Far Eastern, Siberian, Ural, Volga and North Caucasus Federal Districts

In 2010, SGM Group of Companies constructed and commissioned over 1600 km of gas distribution pipelines. Natural gas is already supplied to the cities and towns through the constructed gas pipelines; heating appeared at large industrial enterprises as well as in houses of individual residents in 54 constituent entities of the RF

During 2011 SGM Group of Companies is off to lay over 2000 km of gas networks in more than 40 constituent entities of the RF. 365 km of inter-towns and intra-towns gas pipelines will be constructed in the Republic of Dagestan; Olympic facilities in Sochi will be supplied with gas on Krasnodar Territory

The general vector of construction of gas distribution networks is shifting to the Far East and Eastern Siberia where the level of gas supply remain low. SGM Group of Companies is directly involved in construction of gas distribution networks in these remote regions. For example, in 2010, there were constructed inter-town gas pipelines to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and YuzhnoSakhalinskaya combined heat and power plant No.1

In 2011 JSC “Spetsgazremstroy”, member of SGM Group of Companies, will complete construction that runs from the gas distribution station in Vladivostok to the consumers on the island Russian with a pipeline-branch to the combined heat and power plant No.2 in Vladivostok. The gas pipeline will supply with heat and power the capital of Primorsky Kray and facilities of the Asian Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in 2012

Natural gas coming through the gas pipelines constructed by SGM Group of Companies is not only an improvement of the quality of life for an individual resident but also a possibility to create new production, develop small and medium size business


Construction of Surface Facilities

STROYGAZMONTAZH” is the largest company in Russia that performs construction of above ground facilities of oil and gas infrastructure, at the moment it realizes almost one half of all the construction projects related to compressor stations for the gas pipelines of the country

Construction of seven compressor stations is envisaged as part of the first start-up facility to ensure transportation of gas through Gryazovets – Vyborg gas pipeline. LLC “SGM” is the general contractor in the construction of six of them: Gryazovetskaya,Volkhovskaya, Sheksninskaya, Babaevskaya,Pikalevskaya and Elizavetinskaya compressor stations

Gryazovetskaya, Babaevskaya,Volkhovskaya and Elizavetins kaya compressor stations are to be commissioned already in 2011. All compressor stations will be equipped with modern high performance gas compressor units with a unit capacity of 16 and 25 MW.

LLC “SGM” also became the general contractor in the project of “Reconstruction of pilot-production compressor station at CS Gryazovetskaya where a new gas compressor unit GCU-32 Ladoga made in Russia with a capacity of 32 MW was installed. It is characterized by high for the Russian stationary gas compressor units coefficient of efficiency (36%), low emission level and significant operational life

At Pochinki – Yaroslavl section of Pochinki – Gryazovets gas pipeline LLC “STROYGAZMONTAZH” is constructing CS 04 Ivanovskaya and CS 03 Vyaznikovskaya

“STROYGAZMONTAZH” also became the general contractor for construction of the main compressor station Sakhalin for Sakhalin – Khabarovsk – Vladivostok trunk gas pipeline as well as for construction of two bases of linear production administration in Komsomolsk-on-Amurand in Khabarovsk

Moreover, LLC “SGM” is constructing CS-6 Intinskaya and CS-7 Syninskaya at Bovanenkovo – Ukhta system of trunk gas pipelines

In 2011, “STROYGAZMONTAZH” went ahead with construction of another three stations: Novoprivodinskaya, Novonyuksenitskaya and Novoyubileynaya on Ukhta – Torzhok gas pipeline.


Ukhta – Torzhok

A new big project of LLC “STROYGAZMONTAZH” is construction of the sixth string of the Ukhta – Torzhok trunk gas pipeline. The SGM Group of Companies proceeded with its implementation in December 2010

The Employer is СJSC “Yamalgazinvest”

The trunk gas pipeline Ukhta – Torzhok (the 6th string) is being constructed with the purpose to increase productivity of the Ukhta – Torzhok trunk gas pipeline system during transportation of gas from the Bovanenkovo field

LLC “STROYGAZMONTAZH” is responsible for construction of 486 km of the gas pipeline within its total length of 972 km. Diameter of pipe is 1420 mm. Operating pressure is 9.8 MPa. Design capacity is 81.5 billion m 3 of gas per year

The Ukhta – Torzhok gas pipeline will go across Vologod and Arkhangelsk regions

Constructors will have to build crossings under the rivers using HDD method: the Malaya Severnaya Dvina, the Libenga and the Sukhona. One of the crossings (across the Libenga) will exceed 1100

Construction of the section within the area of responsibilities of LLC “SGM” includes also construction of three compressor stations: Novoprivodinskaya, Novonyuksenitskaya and Novoyubileynaya.

Completion of construction is scheduled for December 2012


Pochinki – Gryazovets


The trunk gas pipeline Pochinki – Gryazovets will ensure delivery of supplementary volumes of gas to the North-Western region of Russia, including the Nord Stream gas pipeline . On the next stage together with arrival of gas from Yamal gas fields the gas pipeline will start to operate in a reverse mode, the gas flow will be redirected to the Central region. The route of the Pochinki – Gryazovets gas pipeline will go across the territory of Nizhny Novgorod region, Vladimir, Ivanov, Yaroslavl and Vologod regions. The Employer of the project is CJSC “Yamalgazinvest”

Total length of the gas pipeline Pochinki – Gryazovets will amount to 650 km, diameter of pipe is 1420 mm, operating pressure is 7.4 MPa. Design capacity is up to 36 billion m 3 of gas per year

In 2009 LLC “SGM” commissioned the sections of the Pochinki– Gryazovets trunk gas pipeline with total length of 157 km. In 2011 10 sections more will be built, the length of which will amount to 351 km

In 2010 LLC “STROYGAZMONTAZH” completed installation of the main and reserve string of the gas pipeline Pochinki – Gryazovets across the Volga. The underwater crossing was made by ordinary trench method, by pulling the pipeline through a developed underwater trench. The length of the main string amounted to 1099 m, the reserve string is1072 m


Works for construction of Ivanovskaya and Vyaznikovskaya compressor stations are being continued on the gas pipeline Pochinki – Gryazovets. In addition a gas metering station, junction points of CS Yaroslavskaya and Vyaznikovs- kaya, 10 gas reduction junction points and etc will be built and put into operation


Gryazovets – Vyborg

The trunk gas pipeline Gryazovets – Vyborg is being constructed by SGM Group of Companies by order of LLC “Gazprom invest Zapad”. The gas pipeline is designated for supply of gas to the Nord Stream gas pipeline and to consumers of the North-Western region of Russia.

Total length of the gas pipeline is 917 km. The diameter of the pipe is 1400 mm. Operational pressure is 9.8 MPa. Design capacity – 55 billion m 3 of gas per year

In 2010 LLC “STROYGAZMONTAZH” completed construction of 300 km of linear part of the first gas pipeline string and n 2011 proceeded with construction of 700 km of the second string of the gas pipeline Gryazovets – Vyborg

Constructors had to solve a lot of complex technical tasks, in particular, in complicated geological conditions the crossings under the Neva and the Saima channel were performed with application of micro tunneling method


The longuest part of the route passed through swamps, the construction was made also in rocks, that is why explosive works were applied. The project envisages construction of seven compressor stations on the Gryazovets – Vyborg gas pipeline. LLC “STROYGAZMONTAZH” is a contractor for construction of six of them: Gryazovetskaya, Sheksninskaya, Babaevskaya, Pikalevskaya, Volkhovskaya and Elizavetinskaya. The CS Gryazovetskaya, Babaevskaya, Volkhovskaya and Elizavetinskaya will be put into operation in 2011

It is planned that Gryazovets – Vyborg gas pipeline will reach its design capacity by the end of 2012.




Major Activities of Vostokgazprom



Vostokgazprom is among the three leading companies of the petroleum industry in the Siberian Federal District, among the forty largest companies of Siberia as well as among the top twenty money winners. As the company specializes in hydrocarbon feedstock production, Tomskgazprom is the major arm of Vostokgazprom Group. In 2007 the company produced in excess of 3 million cubic meters of gas, some 300 thousand tons of condensate as well as 137 thousand tons of liquefied petroleum gas.
The company makes considerable investments in both production balancing and in new field development. In 2007 a booster compressor station was commissioned at the Myldzhynskoye field. This will make it possible to maintain the current production level over the next few years.
In cooperation with SIBUR Holding the company established Sibmetahim – a company that integrated Gazprom’s core methanol assets. Sustained operational results of the company enable to achieve a high efficiency in the “blue fuel” utilization

Company History of Vostokgazprom



January 20, 1995 – the date of Tomsktransgaz incorporation is considered the starting point for the gas production industry evolution in the Tomsk Oblast. Tomsktransgaz was a joint venture of Eastern Oil Company and Gazprom created for the purpose of developing the Myldzhynskoye gas condensate field.
The Joint-Stock Company (ОАО) Vostokgazprom was incorporated on April 8, 1999. Gazprom’s share in the company’s equity capital accounts for 99.98 per cent.
Vostkgazprom underwent several stages of evolution, during which the company shaped its development strategy targeted at achieving a competitive advantage in the development of complex hydrocarbon fields.
The launch of the Myldzhinskoye and subsequently the Severo-Vasyuganskoye fields created the environment for the local economic growth and is of great social significance: employment opportunities are provided and the regional economic stability is increasing.
